What we contribute
Systematic, structured, efficient and targeted innovation work in small and large.
All customers are different. Some have extensive experience with innovation, large budgets and high competence, while others are at the beginning of their innovation work. They all want increased value from their innovation work, but what they need assistance with is different. Tinkr can lead creative processes or structure innovation projects, develop and build an innovation team or contribute with small competence modules. We can also analyze the organization's innovation ability based on the ISO standard for innovation management systems or run an innovation management program. No matter what we do, you will be left with increased competence in innovation in addition to the actual value from the innovation work.

We assist in innovation projects

We can contribute to faster progress and efficiency in an innovation project, and that the solution is actually used and creates the greatest possible value.

OBOS

In the autumn of 2019, BOS announced an idea competition in which they invited to conceptualize the Living lab of the future - a laboratory for exploring the living forms of the future. Tinkr participated in a team with Rambøll, LPO Arkitekter, Byantropologene, Inventas and Metropolis. Together, we developed the Bokuben project, which focused on sustainability, social diversity and flexibility in future forms of housing. Tinkr's role was to contribute with our innovation and co-creation competence with a focus on strategy, innovation, systems and structures for the collaboration. Project

Together with Øvre Eiker, KS, Asker municipality and Troms and Finnmark County Municipality (TFFK), we have a project with the goal of establishing structures and digital modules for effective innovation work in Norwegian municipalities. Tinkr contributes with a framework for innovation projects.

Serit ElTele

Tinkr has assisted Serit Eltele in small and large innovation and product development projects in recent years. We have taken different roles, but have often led innovation processes in the early stages. A typical process is Serit Eltele has many promising and good product ideas, but needs more information to make good choices on which ones to bet on. Here Tinkr has helped develop competitor overviews and market analyses, developed customer journeys, gained user insights and, not least, had close dialogue with potential customers of the products and services. The end result has often been concept sketches or prototypes that in turn lay the stage for new business plans or development projects, for example, in collaboration with customers. An educational and exciting collaboration that we look forward to continuing with!

Process management

Good processes are targeted and efficient, have good energy, ensure active participation and produce tangible results. Then we need to use the tools that fit the task. We lead both small and large processes, both physically and digitally.

UN Global Compact

Un Global Compact is the UN's Organization for Sustainable Business. They have started a focus on sustainable business in the Arctic where the goal is to develop new solutions that effectively help solve some of the sustainability challenges for the business sector in the north. Tinkr is hired as a process manager and we are responsible for leading the companies through an innovation process. In the process, we define and choose what problems to solve, develop ideas for solutions, choose which solutions we want to develop, and help make the solutions use as many people as possible to create the greatest value possible.

Propeller factory

When VINN-Narvik established a management development programme for young people in Northern Norway with the aim of ensuring that young people have a greater influence over social development, they wanted to include practical incompendation in creativity and innovation. And they asked if we could contribute. We developed a one-day process where we take participants from challenge to solution proposal. In this way, they get to try their hand as innovators who will solve important challenges in the society around them. Not only have they come up with good ideas that several of the local principals have taken further, they also got a toolbox with methodologies and tools that they can use in their work and as community changers – or propellers as they call it.

Victoria University

Victoria University in Kampala, Uganda, has in recent years focused on creativity and innovation to ensure that students' competence matches the needs of the labour market. They wanted to explore the possibility of an innovation hub where students can solve challenges with relevant partners and community actors. Tinkr led a process where together with management, employees and students we explored the link between study and working life, and the potential of the innovation hub. The process was divided into three where we first had a workshop with management on goals, motivation and frameworks. So an all-day process focusing on developing solution proposals eventually a process with the employees focusing on solution development, organizational perspective and roles.

Finance your innovator project

Do you have a good idea or problem you want to solve but need external funding to make it work. We structure your project idea, find possible sources of funding and help with application writing and chat with financiers.
Some good experiences

Innovation Norway

Many companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, have some really good ideas that are not being realized. One of the reasons is that they lack resources and do not know how to proceed to apply for funding. We have helped a large number of companies get an overview of their product ideas, assess the possibility of financing, create short project descriptions that we discuss with Innovation Norway, local business funds or the like and then help write the application. And if you need help in implementing the project and reporting as well, we can contribute there and.

NAV Numedal

NAV Numedal has participated in an innovation management programme developed by Tinkr. In the project there is a goal that the management teams will work on a joint project, and in NAV Numedal the focus became a project with the goal of service development based on methods around system-oriented design and co-creation. Through the winter of 2020/2021 we had several processes where we discussed possible procedures and project development. together with management, we developed an application for grants, as a way to concrete the innovation project and obtain additional funding. The application process has been a joint writing project, where we have assisted in developing the idea further together with NAV Numedal's insight into a specific project.

Catalyst

Catalysts is a social entrepreneur who focuses on inclusion, diversity and mentoring. Their main focus is on mentoring programs that connect businesses with mentees with multicultural backgrounds. We have assisted with counselling and sparring for several years, and have not least assisted in business development and financing. Specifically, we assisted in the process of the creation of Catalysts Technologies, which is focused on developing the digital mentoring solution of the future. We were a sparring partner to the management of Catalysts between others into market analysis, development of business models, support in application writing and meetings with Innovation Norway. A project of opinion that has reached over 1000 young people in their work. We are proud to have been a small part of this journey!

Assistance on innovative procurements

Do you want an increased focus on innovation in your ordinary procurement or try an innovative procurement? We have templates and tools for all phases leading up to publication, and have a particular focus on dialogue with the market so it is effective and you do not tread wrong.
Some good experiences

Innovation Norway

Innovation Norway wanted to increase the use of innovative procurements in the humanitarian sector. One of the challenges is that innovative procurements are both a little difficult to implement and quite time- and resource-intensive. With that as a starting point, we developed a guide for innovation-friendly acquisitions. Innovation-friendly procurement is a good starting point for organisations that want to get a greater focus on innovation in their procurements. By focusing a little more on a good demand analysis, conducting some market dialogue activities and having more open requirements specifications, one can gain a much greater innovation potential in ordinary acquisitions without requiring too much. The guide says a lot more about this, and just send us a message and we'll send it to you.

Troms and Finnmark County Council

Together with Troms and Finnmark County Council, we prepared an application for innovation partnerships for innovation Norway for the project "securing avalanches on the road". They came through the eye of the needle, and we have assisted in the work on demand analysis, structuring of the project and the development of a requirement specification. The majority of our work in the project has been related to the market dialogue where through the portal we have www.markedsdialog.no have secured thorough and common information to the market, been responsible for implementation and registration for dialogue conferences and one-on-one meetings, secured a large degree of media coverage, cooperation with a number of networks and clusters. In all the work, we have focused on meeting startups and entrepreneurs and suppliers who do not usually deliver in this area – and motivate them to submit a tender.

Rollag Municipality

The restructuring leader in Rollag municipality had a wild idea; can the health centre that the municipality wishes built in a few years become a health-promoting building – "a building that heals"?. Well, we said and connected on the project and tried to keep up with the municipality's great ambition level. After a preliminary study, the answer was "yes!". Through 2020 and into 2021, we will assist the municipality in finding the right level of innovation, balance risk against price and, not least, use the principles of innovation-friendly procurement; actively enter into dialogue with potential entrepreneurs, competence environments and other partners, and have them jump on the ball to enter as suppliers to the future health centre in Rollag. If the project comes to an end, you'll find out by 2023!

We develop innovative organizations

An innovative organization is so much - it's strategy, leadership, culture, structure and resources. Including. We have analytics tools and systems that make complexity manageable and provide workable activities.
Some good experiences

Individual Människohjälp

Individual Människohjälp (IM), is a Swedish aid organization that works for a world without poverty and exclusion through empowering people to change their own situation. IM wanted to map and get an insight into the organisation's starting point in order to continue its innovation and development work. We conducted the process that included an innovation analysis, in-depth interviews with employees and a workshop with employees from different parts of and levels of the organization. In the process, we jointly identified which areas it was most important to bet on first and that could provide the greatest value. We then prepared some concrete proposals on what they could do to strengthen their further innovation work. Based on the process, combined with their own experiences, IM wanted to create even better structures and conditions for all employees to feel confident, motivated and have the capacity to work on idea development and change work – as individuals and as a team.

Troms and Finnmark County Council

It is fun when we can work with an organisation that is as motivated and dedicated in the innovation work as Per Bjørn in the Transport Division in Troms and Finnmark County Council. We started the collaboration in 2018 and have been working with them ever since. They really wanted to get better at innovation and we started with an analysis of where they were good and where they had challenges. With this as a backdrop, we have taken steps by step and have, among other things, rethinked strategy and strategic management of innovation and sustainability, established an innovation team to build innovation culture and - expertise, developed structures for idea work and portfolio management and made a number of small steps that together have made them a robust innovation organisation driving change in the sector.

Innovation programme for SMB

In our innovation programme for SMEs, we have received clear feedback that one of the most useful modules was involved in innovation. Here we have analysed which players have the greatest value in including, it can be employees, customers, suppliers, boards or someone else entirely. Once the companies had chosen who they would prioritise, we developed clear structures for the work by defining clear goals and activities that could be implemented. Conclusion? It's amazing how much value you can get with even quite small grips.

Mietinen machine

Sometimes we don't quite meet right away, and that we had been working for a while with Kjell in the machine contractor Mietinen AS, he was clear that he did not feel that they were progressing in their innovation work. They still had a bunch of ideas, they had now got them into a structure, but they still didn't get progress and then they were the same length. We had to take a good step back and see if we could make the processes even easier and clearer so it became clear what to prioritize, what to do and how to organise the work. Then it loosened, and suddenly there was so much progress that they had to hold back a little.

KS project

Early-stage innovation is called that, the work of choosing challenges and opportunities, building insights and developing ideas for possible solutions. This is a difficult area to deal with for many, and in the municipality Norway many people find this very challenging. Together with Øvre Eiker municipality, Asker municipality, Troms and Finnmark county council and KS, we have now initiated a major development project where we will develop good structures for this work and, in cooperation with a technology partner, create digital modules that allow municipalities to have good and efficient structures for this work.

Transport division TFFK

The transport division in Troms and Finnmark County Council has been focusing on innovation for several years. They wanted increased innovation in all departments and saw that they had challenges in taking care of good ideas, ensuring that they chose the right ideas to move forward with, and perhaps most of all, ensure progress in the projects they chose to prioritise. We worked with them to set up a structure for idea management with clear deliveries and roles, a digital system that streamlines the process and ensures transparency and quality, and the preparation of clear templates and tools for the work.

Mills

Our first big customer was Mills, and working with them was the start of Tinkr. They had good process tools in place and highly competent and dedicated innovation leaders. However, they saw that they had a great potential for improvement, especially in terms of getting engagement throughout the organization around effective creative processes. Together we developed a number of activities that would increase the degree of innovation, innovation and value of innovation work.

We help you involve innovation (co-creation)

There is great value in involving others in the innovation process, we know that, but how to make it into practice? Whether you call it open innovation or co-creation, we can contribute valuable perspectives and tools to find your way to do it.

Nittedal Municipality

The aim of the mission was to use an innovative approach to the design of Nittedal municipality's new thematic plan for the work of refugees and immigrants with a focus on co-creation, broad insight work and active user participation from start to finish. We carried out a number of processes with both refugees and immigrants, employees in the municipality and external actors involved by employers and NGOs. The aim of the process was to gain a wide range of people's experiences, key needs and challenges, but also to explore ideas and proposals for solutions together – with a main focus on active participation of the target group.

Project

Stad municipality was early and interested in co-creation as a topic and form of innovation. In other words, the municipality has been a finalist in the municipality of volunteering, and in other words has a spirit of volunteering that few communities can match. The road from volunteering municipality to community co-operation may not be that long? Together with Telemark research, we have developed a project where we will explore the potential of co-creation and within 4 years we will see if we can achieve a structure for co-creation that allows it to become the huge resource that we think it can be.

NRC

We had the pleasure of working on the topic together with Stad municipality, and came through the process in dialogue with Telemark research. After several attempts and maturation of the project, Stad municipality in cooperation with Nordre Follo municipality XX received millions for a 4-year research project to find out what it takes to get great value out of a co-creation focus. Tinkr has the lead role in supporting the municipalities in their co-creation projects, and we look forward to learning a lot over the next 4 years!

We build innovation teams in your organization

Imagine having an innovation fashion in your own organization, a team with expertise and motivation that takes initiative and drives innovation efforts forward in every part of your organization. We have a dedicated program to build such innovation teams.
Some good experiences

Coca Cola Beverages Africa

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is one of Uganda's largest employers and has a clear focus on innovation. They selected 20 of their most motivated employees and over the course of 6 months, 4 two-day collections and custom home tasks, together with the management team, we built a dedicated, knowledgeable and insanely inspiring team of "innovation champions." Through the programme, they were able to work practically both with the innovation process and organizational development. They also received specific tools, knowledge replenishment and inspiration from the outside. One of the results was that CCBA designed a structured innovation process to take ideas for tested solutions. They also brought in far more ideas from across the organization and with higher quality. It was wonderful to hear what the participants had learned and the proposals for managing the organization's innovation ability they presented to management – perhaps one of Linn's best experiences as a consultant.

TfFK Division

We have worked with the transport division in Troms and Finnmark County Council for many years, and after we had a strategy, a good culture and good structures, we saw that a separate team was needed to work on this. All departments chose a person for the innovation team and we worked with them to put in place a clear mandate, good structures and the necessary expertise. It's fun to see how even those who were a little unsure of the value of this work initially got an unexpected glow and a commitment to innovation.

Good innovation leaders are one of the most important prerequisites for effective innovation, but how can one ensure motivation, expertise and a real commitment to innovation in a management team?
Some good experiences

Rollag Municipality

Is it possible to implement a good leadership development programme for innovation management fully digitally? We believe the answer is yes – but they place some demands on participants, facilitators and thematics. We had to change the shape of the program quite drastically, but with good goodwill from the organization and with Yvonne Fosser on the team we have focused on teams such as leadership for innovation, innovation system, creative climate, leadership development and leadership group development. Perhaps the most important thing we have achieved is to create an arena for reflection and development in a corona period that has placed enormous demands on managers and employees at all levels of the municipal sector. Cooperation continues into 2021.

Federation of Uganda Employers

The Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) in Uganda is the NHO's sister organization. They have over several developed the organization towards delivering better and more support and advisory services to their members. In order to keep up with developments, FUE has wanted to develop its change and development expertise. This includes building a basic understanding of innovation work, innovation management and how to transform this knowledge into actual change in the organisation. We have held several courses for FUE over the last few years and have continued to work together in these areas – both for the organization FUE and for their members.

Managing innovation at sustainable health

Several countries in Africa face major challenges in meeting sustainability goals and face complex challenges in the form of rapid demographic shifts, high levels of poverty, large refugee populations, climate change and institutional and state instability. Together with the Karolinska Institute (Sweden) and universities in Uganda, Somalia and the DRC, we have developed and delivered a digital competence raising programme for leaders from the health sector in drc, Somalia and Uganda. The aim of the programme is to increase the ability of participants, within their professional role, to work more strategically, innovatively, cross-sectorally and effectively to gain access to healthcare in vulnerable contexts. The programme is divided into in In three module where Tinkr has developed and implemented the one that deals with introduction to innovation and management for innovation. The program is part of the Virtual Center of Excellence for Sustainable Health (CESH) where Tinkr is a partner: https://cesh.health/

Stad Municipality

When Eid and Selje municipality merged and became Stad, innovation and co-creation should be a priority area for ensuring sustainable social development. Tinkr has contributed to several innovation projects within political organisation, meaningful and active life for young people as well as health and care. In early 2020, they wanted to take the next step. By establishing an interdisciplinary innovation team, they were able to combine the implementation of innovation projects with the development of innovation expertise in the organisation. Over the course of 9 months and about 9 collections, participants have worked on innovation projects that provided them with practical training in the innovation process with key methods and tools for effective innovation, while building a team and delivering tangible value through the projects.

Norwegian Medicines Agency

Innovation, co-creation and user involvement are concepts that have a great focus in innovation in the public sector and have gained a large place in the White Paper for innovation in the public sector. With this background, we had a digital lunch collection for the Norwegian Medicines Agency where the goal was to create good discussions and provide content for the topic. In 1.5 hours we reviewed the themes: • Introduction to key principles for innovation and involvement in the public sector. • Brief discussion around SLV's main users and stakeholders, and how do they get involved today. • Review of good methods and tools for involvement. Result? Everyone had notched a better understanding of the topic, knowledge of a couple of new and good tools and a clear consensus that involving others in innovation work is important, and not necessarily so very complicated or time-consuming.

Lørenskog

Lørenskog municipality has a great focus on innovation, service development and sustainability, and Tinkr has in recent years assisted with small and large. Among the small things is the training of the participants in the municipality's innovation network, including on digital process management. The goal was to make it short and efficient, and we therefore started out with 1.5 hours on a review of our most important learnings, principles and tips for small and large digital meetings. Feedback? Even a short session like this can raise awareness, good discussions and useful tips and principles that make digital meetings a little more motivating and effective – and we need that in the digital everyday life we have been thrown into.
